Qualifications, Skills & Experience

-HNC Civil Engineering, BEng or MSc and/or additional experience
-Previous Engineering experience of more than 3 years, with knowledge and understanding of highway engineering design and construction
-Experience and understanding of working directly with developers, local authority and architects
-Ability to work with a team of Engineers and Graduates leading by example
-Experienced user of AutoCAD systems and Highway design software
-Assist in the development of other members of staff, providing assistance and knowledge to enable progression
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Ability to communicate effectively and politely
-Project management skills from initial start-up through to completion
-Ability to prioritise workload
-Ability to work effectively with other staff and as part of a team
-Ability to work on own initiative
-Previous experience of working with computer based systems
-Fast and accurate typing skills, high level of proficiency in Microsoft packages



Role Specific
Requirements

-Interest in development planning, Highways Design and Civil Engineering
-Work in a design environment with regular exposure to developers,
architects and local authorities
-Demonstrate excellent written and face-to-face communication, with clear and concise presentation
-Work closely with both Senior Staff and Managing Director on the proposal of new projects coming into the business
-Full responsibility and Project management of technical schemes
-Design off-site highway features (junctions, roundabouts, link roads etc) in accordance with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges
-Design estate roads in accordance with Manual for Streets
-Provide technical Highways Design input to support planning applications
-Help prepare for, attend and record internal and client project meetings
-Co-operate with the Quality Management System through undertaking administrative activities
-Carry the company brand and reputation through business development and marketing input



Business
Development

-Be active and proficient at marketing the company to all Clients either face to face, via email or over the phone
-Assist colleagues in planning and delivering marketing initiatives to agreed
costs and programmes
-Understand the company services, market sectors, specialisms, procedures and processes
-Assist colleagues with marketing the business, including Client satisfaction
and maintenance of quality in respect of all business development activity
-Organising events including the proposal of guests when relevant, sending out invitations, maps timings etc. as appropriate
-Represent the company at external meetings / events with Clients
-Assist in building effective relationships with Clients
-Have sounds knowledge of the market sectors within which the company operates or aspires to operate
-Support the development of all company promotional media


The Salary will be based on experience but will be between £25-35K ( More experienced candidates will be still be considered)
